Culture & Cocktails Back for 10th Season

Oktoberfest features local craft breweries

October 3, 5 pm–8 pm

Cost: $20; Cost for Members: $10

Springfield, MA—Culture & Cocktail’s 10th season begins with the ever popular Oktoberfest—the Art of Brew beer tasting and local homebrew contest at the Springfield Museums, October 3 from 5-8 pm on the Quadrangle Green (rain location Wood Museum of Springfield History). Members cost is $10; nonmembers $20.

The October event features beer tasting (all samples free with admission) and a contest to choose the best of the homebrewers present. All ticketed guests will receive the 10th Season Culture & Cocktails souvenir pint glass.

“We are excited to share another season of fun,” said Sharon Ferrara, Welcome Center Manager and Co-coordinator for the Culture & Cocktails events. “Culture & Cocktail evenings are always filled with happy people.”

Culture & Cocktails is an adults-only evening at the Museums that features specialty drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and activities that range from craft making to bouquet creation to listening to music and contemplating art and artifacts. “Sometimes drinking with dinosaurs is an option!” said Ferrara. “We like to think of Culture & Cocktails as a toast to culture, community, and conversation!”

This year especially, the Museums hope to reach out directly to area businesses. “There is such wonderful energy as people gather to laugh and talk together here at the Museums, surrounded by incredible art,” said Larissa Murray, Director of Education and founder of the Culture & Cocktail evenings. “We are hopeful this year area businesses will consider this event as an ideal place for office-wide gathering and even holiday parties.”

There are four Culture & Cocktails evenings planned for the Museums (see listings below). The first is Oktoberfest—Art of the Brew and features a contest for the best homebrewer. Please see the list of participating breweries and homebrewers below.
