Picture This: Ravishing Photography
Gina Beavers, Senior Staff Writer
People tend to take some pretty silly shortcuts. Four years ago I gleefully demolished all my closets with plans to rebuild one big awesome one. Turns out my demolition skills far outweighed my carpentry skills. Sometimes do-it-yourself becomes synonymous with “I-screwed-myself.” High stakes photography is another area best left to the experts like Kimberly Deprey of Ravishing Photography in Agawam. Woman owned and operated, Ravishing Photography is a multi-service studio and is the newest addition at the Old Agawam Woolen Mill at 168 Elm Street. “We just had our official grand opening on November 26,” Kimberly says. The Mill’s architecture provides a great studio, but Kimberly does off-site and outdoor portraits, as well. She also provides photography services for products, architecture, fashion, and corporate events. Regardless of the subject Kimberly assures us we’ll “receive high quality creative portraits as well as professional services.” Kimberly’s work combines a tasteful sense of drama and play with the skillful use of lighting, shape and color to create dynamic portraits. Her images are sharp and luminous but at the same time fluid and natural. A graduate of the Hallmark Photography Institute, Kimberly is putting her training to good use. Here’s my take away on this full service woman powered business: Kimberly can take an editorial quality photo of me wearing Marc Jacobs as I gaze wistfully at my birthday cake while luxuriating in my new state of the art closet. I wonder if Kimberly knows a good carpenter. |
